Mark McCahill’s current work in OIT centers around strategic AI initiatives such as developing LLMs and knowledge graphs for course-specific LLM chatbots, assignment feedback tools, grant proposal assistants, and packaging institutional data to enable better AI tooling. Over the years, Mark has led Code+ teams on projects developing websites for estimating polypeptide helicity, and proteomics analysis tools, big-data climate visualizations, building occupancy estimation via Raspberry PIs and CO2 sensors, a PI-based facial recognition system, and more.
