AI in Your Pocket: Reimagining Duke's Mobile Experience with Intelligence

What if Duke's mobile app could answer your advising questions instantly, help you discover campus events tailored to your interests, or guide you to the least crowded dining hall in real time? Duke's Mobile team wants to explore how AI could transform the student experience on iOS & Android, but they need your insights & creativity to figure out what's actually possible and useful. This is an exploratory, high-autonomy project where you'll brainstorm AI-powered features that address real student needs, then build working prototypes to prove they can work. 

You'll develop primarily in SwiftUI for iOS while ensuring your solutions translate to Android, integrating Large Language Models and other AI capabilities directly into mobile applications. Working alongside Duke OIT's mobile developers, you'll gain intensive experience in modern mobile development, learn to evaluate emerging AI technologies through hands-on coding, and see your ideas potentially shape the future of Duke's official mobile platform.
