Enhancing Network Security Analysis with MISTRAL

Description

This project focuses on advancing the MISTRAL platform, a National Science Foundation (NSF)-funded initiative designed to capture and analyze network data in research lab environments. Students will collaborate with the MISTRAL team, Duke’s IT Security Office (ITSO), and key stakeholders to improve tools for querying, distributing, and visualizing security logs and research data. The team will work on analyzing network security datasets specific to research labs, correlating diverse data sources, and developing intuitive visualizations to make complex insights accessible to researchers and security teams. This project offers hands-on experience in Python programming, user interface and API development, and advanced data analysis techniques, contributing to innovative solutions for research lab security.
