Cyberinfrastructure Management System

Description

Year: 2021

A team of students will consult with Duke’s Office of Information Technology to develop a campus cyberinfrastructure management system. The system will leverage a database to catalog asset, location, and interconnection information for wireless access points, fiber optic circuits and other cyberinfrastructure components within the campus network. A visualization subsystem will provide a graphical view of the data to help identify areas with excellent connectivity or areas in need of improvement. Moreover, the system will provide scenario analysis capabilities to identify how infrastructure would be affected by simulated events such as power outages or damage to fiber optic circuits.
